Every new year brings questions regarding how we intend to make changes for the upcoming 365 days. However, as you probably know, resolutions typically become obsolete by May. Tony Robbins often says, “People overestimate what they can do in a year...” and I believe this can partially be attributed to the generally vast resolutions that we dive into every 1st of January.
Resolutions can be easier to stick to when we make them into more specific, smaller, tangible goals. When we make broad resolutions like: "I want to eat healthier and exercise more" or "I will volunteer more", it’s harder to measure whether or not we have accomplished these things and to what extent. If we transform the resolutions into goals such as: “I will eat according to the 80/20 rule”, “I will exercise 3 times per week and check in with my accountability buddy after every workout”, “I will volunteer 2 times per month for at least 2 hours each time”, etc, then these intentions become much less intimidating and more manageable.
Set a few specific goals every month that will lead to an accomplished year you can be proud of.
