A wise woman once told me that in any event in your life, you can chose to assign people to play 1 of 3 characters: the villain, the hero, or the victim. Often unknowingly, we permanently cast people for the same characters every time. Sometimes, one of those people is ourselves, who we perpetually cast as the victim.
I can promise that you are not the victim in every situation and story in your life.
Next time you reflect on your own perspective, ask yourself the following: When was the last time I was the hero? How can I be a hero for myself when I suddenly feel like a victim? How can I avoid being a villain and be someone else’s hero?
